Anyone got a recipe for a birthday cake?

it's my sisters birthday party on wednesday night and i promised her a cake

a sponge or chocolate cake will probably do

it's for about 25 people

can anyone help?Anyone got a recipe for a birthday cake?
well it matters how old ur sister is cuz my favorite cake is southern comfort cake... the alcohol burns away in the oven and it makes the most delicious cake

1 box of yellow cake mix

1 packet of vanilla pudding

3 eggs

1/2 cup of vegetable oil

1/2 cup of water

1/2 cup of southern comfort

this is all i can remember so u might want to look up another recipe on the internet but trust me it is the best cake ever!Anyone got a recipe for a birthday cake?
Ingredients

150g Butter, plus more for greasing

200g dark chocolate, drops, minimum 70% cocoa solids

1 tbsp Brandy

1 tbsp strong black coffee, (made with good quality instant is fine)

150g caster sugar

100g ground almonds

5 Eggs, separated

Squidgy chocolate cake

Method

Preheat the oven to 180C/gas 4.

2. Grease a deep 20cm round cake tin with butter and sprinkle lightly with flour or, preferably, use a non-stick liner.

3. Put the butter, chocolate drops, brandy, coffee, sugar and into a heatproof bowl and melt together, either in a microwave oven or in a bowl over a pan of hot (not boiling) water. Stir well until it becomes smooth. Allow to cool a little, then stir in the ground almonds.

4. Stir the egg yolks into the chocolate mixture.

5. In a large bowl, whisk the egg whites until stiff, then stir gently into the chocolate.

6. Turn the mixture into the cake tin and bake for 35-45 minutes, depending on how squidgy you like it.

7. Let it cool a little, then remove from the tin and cool completely on a rack.

Cook's Notes

This cake looks fabulous simply dusted with a little sieved icing sugar, but, for special occasions, try topping it with some gold almond dragees, or even with a few flakes of real gold leaf and some cocoa powder. Serve it on its own or with fresh raspberries, accompanied by dollops of cr猫me fraiche, whipped cream or mascarpone.

Serves: 1 x 20cm cake: cuts into 20-24 slices

Prep: 20 min

Cook: 35 min, to 45 minutes

Chocolate birthday cake

Here is 2 different recipes. Both delicious.

Cake Ingredients

鈥?oz Butter (or unsalted butter and 录tsp salt)

鈥?oz Plain chocolate

鈥? Eggs

鈥?tsp Vanilla essence

鈥?oz Plain flour

鈥?陆tsp Baking powder

鈥⒙?Pint milk

鈥?录lbs Caster sugar

Method

1.Heat the oven to Gas Mark 5 or 400掳F or 200掳C. Butter and line three 9'; cake tins with baking parchment. (8'; will do if you can't find 9';).

2.Melt the chocolate (either in a bowl over boiling water or in the microwave).

3.Warm a mixing bowl and make sure the butter is soft (otherwise the high proportion of sugar to fat makes creaming difficult). Cream together the butter and sugar.

4.Beat in the eggs, one at a time. Add the melted chocolate and vanilla essence and beat again.

5.In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt (if using unsalted butter).

6.Into the chocolate mixture, fold in the milk and flour alternately.

7.Pour the mixture into the three cake tins. Bake roughly for 45 minutes, until the sponges are set and browned. (It's no good sticking in a skewer to see if it's cooked as the mixture remains gooey even when cooked.)

Icing Ingredients

鈥? x 4oz Packets of dark chocolate polka dots (not Bourneville as this won't set)

鈥⒙紅sp Salt

鈥⒙?Pint soured cream at room temperature (since the chocolate will seize if it is added straight from the fridge)

Method

1.Melt the chocolate drops (either in a bowl over boiling water or in the microwave).

2.Stir in the cream and salt.

3.Cool until the icing is stiff enough to spread, (this can take some time - leave it overnight if you can).

4.Spread between the layers of the cake and around the outside.

Enjoy!

Dark chocolate cake

Ingredients

3 1/8 cups sugar

2 3/4 cups flour

1 1/4 cups baking cocoa (dutch process or dark cocoa preferably)

2 1/3 teaspoons baking powder

2 1/3 teaspoons baking soda

1 5/8 teaspoons salt

3 1/8 eggs

1 5/8 cups milk

7/8 cup vegetable oil

3 1/8 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 1/4-1 5/8 cups boiling water (see note below)

Directions

1Heat oven to 350掳F.

2Grease and flour two 9 inch round baking pans or one 13x9 inch pan.

3In large mixer bowl, stir together dry ingredients.

4Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla; beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.

5Stir in boiling water by hand (batter will be thin). NOTE: I have tried it with 1/2 cup, 2/3 cup and 3/4 cup boiling water and we prefer it with less than 1 cup water. I usually use between 2/3 %26amp; 3/4 cups. The cake is still very moist but it doesn't seem to ';fall'; as much as it cools. This might have to do with our high humidity or brand of flour or other factors so I don't know if it will work for everyone.

6Pour into prepared pan.

7Bake 30 to 35 minutes for round 9-inch pans, 35 to 40 minutes for rectangular pan or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. (Do not use 8-inch pans or the batter will overflow.).

8Cool 10 minutes; remove from pan to wire racks
find one on Google duhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
