I want to make cake balls and the recipe calls for...?

chocolate flavored confectioner麓s coating, I live in Honduras and there is no way to find that here. Is there another ingredient I can replace the confectioner麓s coating with? Like chocolate chips or chocolate squares or chocolate powder that will give me the same look.I want to make cake balls and the recipe calls for...?
Confectioners coating is a solid candy. It comes in vanilla (which is usually colored pastels) and chocolate. It's sold in bars, chunks and disks. It's melted then used for molding and dipping candies. Sometimes it's called ';almond bark coating'; or ';chocolate bark coating.';

Here's what it looks like in disk form:

You could use melted chocolate chips if you want. It wouldn't be exactly the same, but should be close enough.

Don't add powdered sugar to the chips when you melt them, though.I want to make cake balls and the recipe calls for...?
I never heard of cake balls, sounds yummy. Is it easy to make?

Chocolate Powdered Sugar

2 tablespoons powdered sugar

1 teaspoon unsweetened cocoa

In a small bowl stir together powdered sugar and unsweetened cocoa.

NOTE: Chocolate Powdered Sugar is quite light in color. Dark chocolate cookies show it off best.

----

Chocolate Coating

4 (1 ounce) squares semisweet chocolate

1 1/2 tablespoons butter

In a double boiler, combine squares of chocolate and butter or margarine; stir until melted. Let cool until chocolate thickens somewhat. Pour chocolate on top of cake.
that is a coating like the chocolate bark that we dip candy and stuff into.

You can make your own by making a fudge sauce and adding some paraffin to it to make it set up nicely.

melted chocolate chips with some added karo would work very well. if this gets too thick to dip your cakes into, thin it with paraffin.

I do all this over boiling water to prevent burning the chocolate bark.
Confectioner's coating is chocolate like chocolate chips with a high high high fat content, preferably a saturated fat. White chocolate is usually pretty similar in consistency. You might try to add some lard or vegetable shortening to chocolate chips, but I'm not having much luck finding a recipe for you.
just mix the confectioners sugar with cocoa baking powder

if you want it a darker color and more chocolatly taste just add more cocoa to what you think, or lighter and not that chocolaty less cocoa powder.
You can melt chocolate and use that, but it won't be as glossy as the confectioner's coating. You could sprinkle them with chocolate powder after dipping them to make them look pretty.
You can shave some dark or milk chocolate into the confectioners, too for a different look.
you can use ordinary chocolate or chocolate chips
chocolate confectioners coating consists of powdered sugar and cocoa powder.
