Can anybody give me a quick and easy recipe for a birthday cake?

Its my sisters birthday on Saturday and was hoping to bake her a cake. Either a chocolate or plain sponge cake with a filling. Can anybody give me either a link to create a homemade cake or give me instructions to make my own cake. Thanks. Can anybody give me a quick and easy recipe for a birthday cake?
OK - this is absolutely foolproof and because you mix everything up together it avoids problems with the mixture curdling when the eggs are added to the creamed mixture which is what often happens with conventional sponge recipes

Sticky Chocolate fudge cake

8 oz self-raising flour

level teaspoonful baking powder - optional - but gives extra lift!

5 oz caster sugar

2 tablespoonful cocoa powder

2 tablespoonful golden syrup

2 eggs

5 fl oz milk

5 fl oz corn oil

Put the whole lot in a mixing bowl and whisk thoroughly together. The mixture should look sloppy - do not panic!

Put into 2 greased baking tins, bottoms lined with greaseproof paper. Put in a pre heated oven for 25 mins at about 160 degrees

Filling

2 oz margarine or butter

tablespoon cocoa powder

icing sugar

SMALL amount of milk

Melt butter or marg in a saucepan and stir in cocoa powder. Take off heat and mix in enough icing sugar to give a really stiff mixture. Then soften mixture by adding very small amount of milk - this will also make the fudge filling shiny. Let it cool - as it cools it thickens so you may need to add more milk - but be careful as you don't want it too runny

Sandwich 2 layers together with fudge filling and sprinkle icing sugar on the top OR - you can make double quantity of filling and put that on the top too and decorate with eg smarties, choc chips, choc buttons - the choice is yours!

Always a hit and anything homemade ALWAYS tastes nicer than the synthetic shop-bought rubbish! Can anybody give me a quick and easy recipe for a birthday cake?
This cake is simple to make, very filling and almost every one who has tried has loved it. Plaes contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I hope this helps.

Hurry-Up Cake

Make in one bowl.

Have ingredients at 75 degrees.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Sift before measuring:

1 戮 cups cake flour (regular white flour)

Resift with:

1 cup sugar

Add:

陆 cup SOFT butter

2 eggs

陆 cup milk

陆 teaspoon salt

1 戮 teaspoons double-acting baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla

Beat vigorously with a wire whisk, spoon or rotary beater for 2 to 3 minutes.

Bake in a greased pan or cupcake holders for about 陆 hour (30 min.)

Let it cool for about 10-15 min. If you are making a rectangular or single layer circle cake leave it in. If you are making cupcakes or a double layer cake take the cake/cupcakes out and let them cool on a rack.

Ice it as soon as it has cooled down so that it doesn鈥檛 dry out.

Chocolate, white and lemon icing is good with this.

Hurry-Up Caramel Cake

Prepare

Caramel icing is very good with this
I have a recipe for a super easy chocolate cake that is pretty darn easy to make. There's also a recipe for chocolate frosting there which makes the whole thing a super chocolate overload.

Go to my site and print out the recipe and you are good to go.

I make them often and they taste really good. The thing with a boxed cake mix is once you start making homemade cakes, you can taste the chemicals in the box cakes. They just aren't as good.
Creme 4 ounces of butter and 4 ounces of sugar together in a bowl. Add two eggs and 4 ounces of flour and coco powder if you want a chocolate sponge. Put in greased baking tins (butter and flour dusted around the edge). Put in a pre heated oven for 15-20 mins on gas mark 4.

Icing- follow instructions on the back of the packet :D
just buy the box kind, unless you are a good chef, they usually taste better anyway.
