Can someone give me a recipe for applesauce cake?

I was thinking of making an applesauce cake for my sons birthday but have no idea how so i was wondering if anyone could give me a simple recipe for it. Also i would like a recipe that is free of nuts or raisins.





Also what icing goes best with this cake?Can someone give me a recipe for applesauce cake?
my mom makes this recipe all the time.^^ i love it.





Chocolate Applesauce cake





1/2 cup butter,softened


1 3/4 cups sugar


2 eggs


2 cups of applesauce


2 cups flour


3 tablespoons cocoa powder


1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda


1/2 teaspoon salt


1/2 teaspoon cinnamon


1 cup chocolate chips


2 tablespoons sugar





In a large bowl,cream butter and 1 3/4 cups sugar. add eggs and applesauce.mix well and set aside. sift together flour,cocoa powder,soda,salt,and cinnamon. add to large bowl and mix throughly.pour into a greased and floured 13x9 pan. spirnkle chocolate chips and 2 tablespoons sugar on top. bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes. serves 12 to 15. i hope it helped.





oh and it doesnt need icing. the sprinkling chcolate chips and stuff is mostly the toping.Can someone give me a recipe for applesauce cake?

Measure Ingredient


1戮 cup Cake Flour; sifted


1 teaspoon Baking Powder


录 teaspoon Soda


陆 teaspoon Salt


1 teaspoon Cinnamon


陆 teaspoon Cloves


陆 cup Butter; or shortening


1 cup Sugar


1 Egg; well beaten


1 cup Raisins; fine cut


1 cup Nut meats; chopped


戮 cup Apple sauce; strained/hot





Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder, soda, salt, and spices, and sift together three times. Cream butter thoroughly, add sugar gradually, and cream together until light and fluffy. Add egg, raisins, and nuts and beat well. Add flour mixture, alternately with apple sauce, a small amount at a time, beating after each addition until smooth. Bake in greased loaf pan, 9-1/2x5-1/2x3 inches, in moderate oven (350 degrees F.) 1 hour, or until done.
